Classmate John Allen, as president of the Tennessee Valley Civil War Round Table, introduced Paul Bryant Jr. (THS class of ’62) at the organization's meeting July 8th.
Paul then introduced the featured speaker, the dean of Civil War Historians Edwin C. Bearss (featured commentator for Ken Burns' PBS series, The Civil War). The meeting was held at UA Huntsville before a packed audience in Chan Auditorium. Bryant is a trustee of the University of Alabama System, which includes UAH. He is also chairman emeritus of the Civil War Preservation Trust.

"Alabama Moon” is a lively coming-of-age story about a boy raised in the wilderness named Moon who must learn to survive in civilization after losing his father. Alabama Moon caught the attention of Tuscaloosa born producer,
Lee Faulkner, when an acquaintance recommended he read the book. Faulkner read the story, liked it, acquired the film rights, and set the project in motion.
The film is scheduled to be released this summer.
